Professional Podcasts LLC Audio Podcast Feature on BlogPhiladelphia Conference Available
CHERRY HILL, NJ – July 20, 2007 – Cherry Hill-based Professional Podcasts LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lubetkin Communications, is distributing an audio podcast report about the BlogPhiladelphia “un-conference” held last week at the Radisson Plaza-Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia.
More than 200 bloggers and other participants in social technologies like podcasts and networking websites spent two days in formal and informal workshops on new developments and trends in the “blogosphere.” More information on the conference is at www.blogphiladelphia.net.
“We are especially pleased that — like many other social media participants — we’ve been able to use the social technologies to permit others to learn from an event that they might not have been able to attend,” said Steve Lubetkin, managing partner of Professional Podcasts. “Podcasting gives listeners the immediacy of a radio report, but because we are not constrained by broadcast time schedules or the economics of traditional broadcasting, we have the flexibility to give audiences a real taste of an event, with a depth of coverage impossible on terrestrial or satellite radio.”
“This program showcases the professional production techniques that can be used by companies and other organizations to create entertaining, informative radio-style programs about their expertise,” Lubetkin said. “Professional Podcasts can offer this kind of capability to a wide range of clients.”
The BlogPhiladelphia podcast program runs about five minutes and is available on http://lubetkinsotherblog.blogspot.com, by RSS feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/lubetkinsotherblog, or through the Apple iTunes Music Store online at http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=79125531. It is also available at Lubetkin Communications website, www.lubetkin.net.
The podcast includes interviews with Annie Heckenberger, director of social media at the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, one of the principal sponsors of the conference; Lisa Marshall of Cherry Hill, an organizer of forthcoming PodCamp Philly un-conference for podcasters scheduled for September 8-9 at Drexel University; Jill Ivey, editor of the Phillyist.com blog; Carl Lavin, deputy managing editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer; and Alex Hillman, a web developer and organizer of BlogPhiladelphia.
A version of the BlogPhiladelphia feature report also appears in another podcast, For Immediate Release: The Hobson and Holtz Report, a popular twice-a-week podcast on communications and public relations. More information is at http://www.forimmediaterelease.biz.
Podcasts are digital audio or video recordings distributed using Internet technology. Visitors to an organization’s website can download podcast programs for review on their desktop computers, or synchronize them with a portable digital media device. Software programs called “feed readers” or “podcatchers” allow users to “subscribe” to podcasts at no cost, and receive new programs in a podcast series automatically.
