Building on three enormously successful years, including attendance that has reached 300+,  PodCamp Philly is back for its 4th year! Professional Podcasts will be on-site conducting interviews with presenters, sponsors and attendees.

On Oct 2nd and 3rd, 2010, Temple University will once again host the area’s largest digital media unconference.  A PodCamp  is a BarCamp-style community UnConference for podcasters and listeners, bloggers and readers, as well as anyone interested in New / Social Media. (A BarCamp style UnConference means that the participants are also the experts and the speakers.)

First held in Boston, Massachusetts, Podcamp has spread across the United States and the world to bring people of all backgrounds and abilities together to teach and learn from each other. Recent events have included Pittsburgh, Toronto, New York City, Munich, Atlanta, San Antonio and Stockholm.

“The purpose of PodCamp is to share information, build and grow relationships and grow the new media community.  This type of event encourages interactivity, Q&A’s and sessions that are dialogues versus monologues.  Topics range from beginner to expert and hobby to business in several tracks including podcasting, blogging, social media and technical,” said event co-organizer Lynette Young.

Summaries of some of the sessions can be found on the PodCamp Philly website.  A full schedule will be posted prior to the event.  The attendee generated content will have something for everyone whether you are focused on learning for personal or professional use.

Have an idea for a session or just want to lead a discussion?  That is what PodCamp is all about!  Everyone sharing their experience and knowledge.  Simply submit a session proposal via the website.

PodCamp Philly is about people willingly coming together to share, teach, learn and grow – becoming better at what we do and sharing it with the world. Whether you’re a Fortune 500 executive or a student, we all have unique experiences that others can learn from.

Tickets to PodCamp Philly are $20 and are available at http://podcampphilly2010.eventbrite.com/.  The fee covers both days of Podcamp and admission to the social events. Admissions fees are donated to a local charitable/educational organization.  Last year, PodCamp Philly raised over $4,000.00 for Covenant House in support of homeless youth.

PodCamp Philly is sponsored by Pandemic Labs, Mashable.com, Hoffman Digital Media, Professional Podcasts.com, Purple Stripe Productions, Red Stapler Consulting, Social Media Club Philadelphia and Social Media Club Princeton.   Additional sponsors are welcome.  Information on sponsorship opportunities are available on the PodCamp Philly website. http://www.podcampphilly.com/
