The Lubetkin on Communications Podcast goes video in our new TV production studio, with this first video episode. Our guest is Peter Key, former technology columnist for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
About the Guest
Peter is a freelance writer and media-strategy consultant. He is also the agent for the intellectual property of his father, cartoonist and writer Ted Key.
Peter worked as a journalist for 28 years, including 15 at the Philadelphia Business Journal, where he covered technology companies, venture capital, higher education and entrepreneurship.
Peter also wrote gags for Hazel, his father’s comic panel about a bossy-but-warmhearted maid that appears online and in newspapers.
Baby boomers may remember the TV show Hazel starring Shirley Booth that ran in the 1960s and is now available on DVD. Since his father’s death in in 2008, Peter has been working to return his father’s creations to the limelight.
The DreamWorks Animation movie Mr. Peabody & Sherman, which was released in March, credited Ted Key for creating the format and characters upon which Peabody and Sherman are based. Additionally, composer Ron Abel and lyricist Chuck Steffan are working with writer Lissa Levin on a Hazel musical comedy and plan to stage rehearsals for investors in the fall.
